Do I eat the last strawberry shortcake, or do I offer to share?
I guess it depends on whether he had one at lunch today.

Whatever I happen to feel like distributing to the ether at the moment.
Please, no profanity in the comments - I'm a terrible prude, and besides, my momma might be reading!

Personally, I'd eat the last strawberry shortcake.
I have always told my children. "I'm the kind of mother who will jump in front of a tow truck to save you (really happened), but don't expect me to give you the last piece of chocolate cake!"
They know it's absolutely true, too!
yeah, I actually think eating the last piece is an act of love toward my children - maybe even greater than jumping in front of a truck - at least that is what I tell myself.
