Recording

I have been recording training videos at work. I do stuff on the computer, and a lovely software package captures it, and I talk about what I'm doing. I love, love, love doing this. I would like to be professional "voice talent." Maybe I could get a job in radio. It doesn't pay squat, but my lovely voice would be heard all the world over.

I have a big meeting at work tomorrow. We're going to decide how to proceed on the project I'm working on, and, maybe, if they can keep me on after the first of the year from home. I won't be going to chili cook-offs, but they'll pay me.

Little Boy was very excited about the projected "blanket of snow" coming on Wednesday, wherein he could make snow angels, and also a snow man, if a grown-up would help him. He was distressed to hear that we were planning on leaving for The Condo that morning. Then, grandpa told us that it was not going to snow, but only flurry. Now he doesn't mind leaving.

Great parent-teacher conference. He's grown up so much in the last three months!

Have a great trip to missouri. hope you have good traveling weather.
get little boy some play dough to practice making snowmen for when it really snows. hope he knows it has to be wet snow to make a snowman. of course, you could let him dress up his dad like a snowman.
here is wishing continued success with your job.
you may have to change your avatar to a musical note !

You can offer time at your local college or public radio station - usually either need help. You might end up with your own radio show!

Ann, just curious, are you using Macromedia Captivate or some other program? I'm trying to find a program for similar projects, and if you are using Captivate, I'd love to hear what you think of it...

I like Captivate a lot. I haven't done much with the editing piece other than move around audio, but our editing guy says if you capture correctly (i.e., don't talk while you move from screen to screen; first click, then talk) it's really easy to work with. It's very easy to use. I'm sure there are ways to edit global settings to minimize some of the repetitive slide-to-slide tasks. Also, you can import a power point. It has interactivity, too, but I haven't messed with that much. Yet.

Talked again to the editing guy. He says that for a version 1 program, it does what it does very well. Adobe has bought out Macromedia, so he doesn't know what it's future is.
