Backyard Chorus
I'm not sure what kind they are. But from my back yard emanates the chorus of croaking frogs. It's wonderful. What a lovely sound.
DH and little boy went out back to catch one and see if DH could identify it, but without success. Maybe DH will have more success alone, tomorrow.

I heard that sound once, a long, long time ago. We were just kids, walking with my dad in Zion's canyon. There was a large ground rock with a sizeable divot in it filled with water from a trickling stream emerging from a crack in the adjacent cliff wall. Frogs everywhere, and it was so green and beautiful.
You have a healthy backyard. The first things to die when the land or water is poisoned are the frogs, but of course you already know that, being married to a zoologist.
Frogs = health and happiness.
Ahh, memories! Thanks Ms. Banana.
When I first moved to the Washington, my first winter, there was one rainy week that for some unknown reason there were all of these little bright green and gray tree frogs were EVERYWHERE. I mean everywhere. They would even climb into the the roof/bathroom vents and lounge in the tub.
One night it took me and my sister an hour to drive 8 miles to the store because she had to get out and clear the road so we wouldn't squish any sweet little tree frogs.
They were SO loud at night we had to wear ear plugs.
