Houston
We are evacuating to Houston. As I've said in the past when I've blogged about this: not everybody in my neighborhood is leaving, so don't anybody even THINK about coming here to steal my stuff. My neighbors like guns.
We have a room in a nice hotel with high-speed internet access, so we've decided to take our PC. We're such geeks.
DH helped a woman in our ward put up wooden shutters over her windows today. He's a good man.

Copying and pasting what I wrote on Randy's blog:
The forecasters seem very sure about this one. I hope they're wrong. In case you can read this, I'm wishing you safe travels.
Is there such a thing as hurricane damage insurance in your neighborhood anymore?
glad you are headed out as i read the cat 5 description on the news.
hopefully your neighbors will change their minds this morning and get out too. any looters will probably be blown away or drowned.
glad you have your communicator with you (laptop)
we will all sit and wait and watch now. hope for the best.

Take care.
When Little Boy has to miss school to evacuate, do they have "hurricane days" to make up like we have Snow days in the midwest?
They do make-up days if they need them. I'm not sure what's going to happen in this situation, because I'm not sure how messed up things will be when we get back.
You should've come to NO back in June! Who knows if there'll BE a NO next week...
